UPDATE (7/22/10) 1:00 PM: This morning I went over to the village of Sag Harbor and talked to residents and eyewitness’s about last nights storm. In Cedar Point county park, which overlooks Northwest Harbor and the Sag Harbor Bay, The General Store Manager says that a cell came off the water, and appeared as it was a waterspout turned tornado. The cell left a clear line of damage through the campground park. Campers took shelter in Showers and Bathrooms. “At least 8 tree’s blocked the main road into the campground.” Said The Manager. He added that they never lost power, but still do not have phone service.
UPDATE (7/21/10) 11:00 PM: It has not been confirmed if the tornado touched down. Yet National Weather Service doppler radar indicated rotation in a storm cell in this area. There have been many reports of Waterspouts over the Sag Harbor Bay. Theese are just spotter reports passed on by the NWS. They have not confirmed nor denied these reports of a waterspout or tornado.
