Georgia pastor accused of sexually coercing teenage boys cancels planned trip to Florida
ATLANTA, GEORGIA (BNO NEWS) – Pastor Eddie Long, leader of a prominent Georgia church, canceled his plans to attend a pastor installation at a Florida church after recent accusations, charging him with sexually coercing four teenage boys, CNN reported on Wednesday.
Pastor Long had planned to travel to Miami for the installation of a new pastor at the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church this weekend, a spokeswoman for the Florida church said. However, four lawsuits that were filed last week have caused him to reschedule his plans, as charges accuse the televangelist for coercing young male church members into performing sexual acts with him.
“He was involved in the installation service of our new pastor, Reverend. Jeremy Upton,” the spokeswoman said. “Bishop Long sent us a letter informing us that he would not be attending due to recent developments.”
One of the young men accusing Long blasted the preacher during a television interview, saying that he wasn’t a man, but “a monster.” Jamal Parris, 23, told a local news reported that he was a former church employee and a personal assistant to Long, and he is now one of the four individuals filing lawsuits against the televangelist.
“I cannot get the sound of his voice out of my head, I cannot forget the smell of his cologne, and I cannot forget the way he made me cry many nights when I drove in his cars on the way home,” Parris recounted. Long’s spokesman, Art Franklin, says that the pastor “categorically and adamantly denies” the allegations against him, and said that the individuals charging him were a “case of retaliation and a shakedown for money by men with some serious credibility issues.”
Long, on Sunday while speaking to his congregation, said that he was “not the man that has been portrayed on television.” He said that he was under spiritual warfare and that he prays for mercy for all that are “involved.” He is supported by his 25,000-strong congregation.
Parris refuted this, saying: “That man cannot look me in the eye and tell me we did not live this pain. While you can sit in front of the church and tell them that you categorically deny it, you can’t say that to our face. And know this. You are not a man. You are a monster.” In the lawsuit, Parris says that Long manipulated him into thinking that the sexual acts were a “healthy component of his spiritual life,” and gave him money, trips, and gifts.
Parris allegedly left the church in late 2009 “disillusioned, confused, and angry about his relationship with Defendant Long.” Parris joined the church when he was 14, in 2001.
The accusations are particularly divisive, as Long has consistently and passionately preached against homosexuality over the years. It’s alleged that he coerced the young men into intimate sexual acts, such as massages, masturbation, and oral sex.
Long compared himself to David and the charges to Goliath, a Christian holy story, and said that he has “five rocks and I haven’t thrown one yet.”

Pedophiles will frequently disassociate themselves with their acts because they know that society views people who perform such abominable acts with children as monsters.
It is a well-known fact that they will literally sell their souls before they face the reality of what they have done.
Additionally there are many documented cases of pedophiles developing other mental illnesses to compensate for the filth they have delved into. They want to be seen as fine upstanding persons, yet their base desires trip them up and once they return from their immersion into ‘that’ life, they see themselves as normal and as clean as you and me.
If Pastor Eddie Long is guilty of these charges, then it may be necessary to talk to that ‘other’ personality that comes into being when he is on one of these little ‘vacations into debauchery’.
