West Point, NY (Channel 6 News) — On Friday May 18th, Members of the media were given access to the highly secure U.S. Mint at West Point to see how the commemorative September 11th medals are made. The U.S. Mint began producing up to 2 million silver medals to help support operations of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in late 2010.
