I love to swim, and I’m always looking for new ways to wear my favorite bathing suits. I scoured the internet for stylish women’s swimwear that would help me feel confident in my own skin, and I’ve got a few favorites from which you can draw inspiration.

The high-waist bikini

If you have a pear-shaped body, then high-waist bikini tops are the way to go. They’ll give your midsection some definition without accentuating your hips too much.

If you’re busty, try out a high-waist bikini bottom instead of a regular one that will make it look like your booty is spilling out from underneath!

The strapless one-piece

The strapless one-piece is a great option for women who want to be able to swim and also be comfortable. The best part about this swimsuit is that you don’t have to worry about holding up your top all day, because it does it for you! This style of swimwear has been around for decades (and will probably stick around for decades more), but we still love it today because it’s so easy and convenient just like wearing a comfy shirt in summers.

Bralettes as swimwear

As Bralettes are used under any outfit or formal dress it is also an easy way to add some style to your swimsuit. A bralette is a bra without cups and straps, which makes it more comfortable for wearing in the water. They come in all sorts of colors and styles–from lace to mesh, strapless or not–so you can find one that fits your personal taste perfectly!

Bralettes are also great for pairing with one-piece swimsuits since they provide support without adding extra bulk under your top layer (which may cause chafing). If you’re wearing a bikini bottom with a halter top style that ties at the neckline instead of around your backside like most bikinis do but still want added coverage on top–this is another great option!

Bandeau tops and bikinis

Bandeau tops are the perfect option for women with small chests, or those who don’t want to worry about their top falling down while they’re swimming. They’re also really easy to wear and comfortable. The bandeau style is great for casual swimwear as well as more formal occasions like weddings or parties at the beach.

Bandeaux come in all different colors and styles–you can find one that matches your favorite bikini bottom perfectly!

One-shoulder bathing suits

One-shoulder bathing suits are the perfect way to show off your shoulders. They can be worn by people of all ages, shapes and sizes. What’s more, they look great on tanning bodies too!

  • One-shoulder swimsuits are a go-to look for swimming in style (and yes, they’ll keep you safe from shark attacks).
  • The key with one shoulder swimsuits is finding one that fits well on your body type so that it doesn’t make you look like an upside down triangle or boxy rectangle–unless that’s what you’re going for!

A great cover-up

A great cover-up is a must-have when you’re headed to the beach. It’s not just for modesty–it also serves as a towel, and can protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Here are some of our favorite options:

  • A pareo (a piece of fabric wrapped around your waist) is a stylish way to keep cool in the heat while showing off your personal style.
  • A sarong can be worn like an oversized scarf or tied around the hips for an elegant look that doubles as protection from sunburns and sandstorms alike!

Swimwear with a twist

Swimwear with a twist is a great way to make a statement. You can wear swimwear with a twist to the beach, pool or even the gym! Swimwear with a twist can be fun and fashionable at the same time.

Solid pieces that stand out

It is a great option for people who don’t want to show too much skin, but still want to look stylish. Solid pieces are also great for covering up scars and tattoos, or simply covering up your body shape if you’re not comfortable with it.

Supportive swimwear

Supportive swimwear is important. You want to make sure that your bikini is supportive and comfortable, especially if you are busty. Getting the right fit is key, but also make sure that the cup size fits properly (we’ll get into more detail below). If you’re looking for swimwear with added support, some brands offer this option!

Women’s swimwear is more than just bikinis, but you can still rock one if you want to!

It is more than just bikinis, but you can still rock one if you want to!

Women’s swimwear is a lot like women’s fashion in general: it’s about finding the right fit for your body type. Some women prefer high-waisted suits, which offer more coverage and modestly than other options (like thong or string bikini styles). Other women prefer less coverage and are happy rocking their favorite two piece with confidence. It all depends on what feels comfortable to you–and that goes for both types of swimwear!

We hope you’ve enjoyed this article and found some inspiration for your next beach trip.
